Daniel McKearney, MD Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Daniel McKearney, MD

Please join us in welcoming Daniel McKearney, MD, to Wyoming Orthopedics and Spine.

He will officially be joining us on September 2nd as a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction, with a focus on hip and knee replacement surgery.

A proud Wyoming native from Powell, Dr. McKearney is returning home after an extensive educational and training journey that began at the University of Wyoming, followed by medical school at the University of Washington, orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University/Corewell Health, and most recently, fellowship training at the Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville.

Dr. McKearney brings not only outstanding clinical experience, but a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care in rural communities across our region. His passion for serving Wyoming stems from personal experience, his early interest in orthopedics was sparked after his sister underwent surgery following a traumatic injury, inspiring him to shadow surgeons in his hometown and ultimately pursue this field.

He is excited to collaborate with Drs. Israelson and Sorenson to grow the joint replacement program, and to help strengthen continuity of care between specialty and primary providers across northeast Wyoming. His vision aligns with a shared goal: ensuring that patients don’t need to leave the state for exceptional care, they should choose to stay because it’s their best option.

Outside the clinic, Dr. McKearney enjoys hiking, backcountry camping, fishing, and archery, activities that helped bring him back to the mountains and lifestyle he loves.

We’re thrilled to welcome him to the WYOS family and look forward to the impact he’ll make in our community.

Welcome home, Dr. McKearney!
