Daniel McKearney, MD Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Daniel McKearney, MD

Please join us in celebrating Daniel McKearney, MD, as part of the Wyoming Orthopedics and Spine team.

Dr. McKearney officially joined WYOS on September 2nd as a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction, with a focus on hip and knee replacement surgery.

A proud Wyoming native from Powell, Dr. McKearney has returned home following an extensive educational and training journey that began at the University of Wyoming, followed by medical school at the University of Washington, orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University/Corewell Health, and fellowship training at the Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville.

Dr. McKearney brings not only outstanding clinical experience, but also a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care in rural communities across our region. His passion for serving Wyoming stems from personal experience; his early interest in orthopedics was sparked after his sister underwent surgery following a traumatic injury, inspiring him to shadow surgeons in his hometown and ultimately pursue this field.

He is collaborating closely with Drs. Israelson and Sorenson to continue growing the joint replacement program and to strengthen continuity of care between specialty and primary providers across northeast Wyoming. His vision aligns with a shared goal: ensuring patients do not need to leave the state for exceptional orthopedic care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. McKearney enjoys hiking, backcountry camping, fishing, and archery—activities that drew him back to the mountains and lifestyle he values.

We are proud to have Dr. McKearney as part of the WYOS family and look forward to the lasting impact he continues to make in our community.
